The Vision programme is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Ireland Wales Programme (INTERREG 4A).
The Ireland Wales Territorial Co-operation Programme 2007 - 2013 (INTERREG 4A) is the successor to the Ireland Wales INTERREG IIIA Programme which ran from 2000 to 2006.
In common with all such programmes in the EU it is now a full structural funds programme in its own right. This recognises the success of these programmes in fostering cooperation across EU Member State borders.
The new programme will run from 2007 to 2013 and will be focused on further developing Irish Welsh cooperation in a number of areas.
The new programme will be managed in Ireland on behalf of the Department of Finance and the Welsh Assembly Government. The Southern & Eastern Regional Assembly in Waterford will undertake this task and act as the Managing Authority and Certifying Authority. This is a reversal of the arrangements for the last programme where the Welsh European Funding Office was the lead authority.
