The Brooks Universal Pendulum Impact Tester Model IT3U is used for evaluation of materials by either Charpy or Izod tests which measure the energy required to rupture a specimen of specific dimensions by impact of known energy value with a special striker mounted on a pendulum and measuring the kinetic energy absorbed by the impact.
